“What do you MEAN Matt Barlow isn’t singing with Iced Earth?!” Again. I’ve been a looongtime fan of their’s and to hear that one of my all time favorite screamers wasn’t doing his duty on vocals for this year’s Worldwide Plagues Tour, I in turn, cried. Okay, I was really, really bummed but to my surprise once I stepped “into the pit”, FourteenG alum Into Eternity’s frontman, Stu Block, was at the helm. You couldn’t wipe the grin from both our faces!
Now, I’m happy again. The end.
Ok, so, kinda mad at myself for not properly photographing @GaryNuman tonight at the Metro but thank Odin the team @jbtvstudio had an invite for the shows’ live taping. I’m sooo happy came Kudos Jerry n friends!!!
It’s the one year anniversary of the release of “What Are You Doing Here?: A Black Woman’s Life and Liberation in Heavy Metal”. Where “Sweet Laina” honored myself and bff/FourteenG cohort Karma Elise, in an inclusion on her pet project. We are forever grateful for letting us share our story with the populus. I wish WE had this memoir when we were younger!!! We had no blueprint on how we would be perceived in the metal community. I guess we thought it wasn’t a big deal. And, who cares anyway…
Now THAT’S pretty metal in itself.
The last time Anathema was in the States was 2000-01. Milwaukee Metal Fest. I don’t remember though my cohorts claim we did see them. By the way, they aren’t really metal. Moody but not metal. Yeah, yeah. So what if they had Cradle Of Filth & (my fave) My Dying Bride alum, I can’t digest that they’re metal. That’s okay, they are still tasty.
